Today over 200 boys and girls, ages under 10 to over 21 years, play soccer and netball every weekend in an 8 month season.

The nine teams are bused 15 kilometers every weekend to play in a very competitive professionally run league, smartly equipped in team colours, and fed.The league maintains strict standards of fair play, respect for officials and carefully monitored ID cards for each player – all much appreciated by the players and reflected in their everyday conduct.

Weekdays they practice in an open air sports complex recently built by the municipality following a strong joint campaign by the club and the Makhaza community.

It’s ten minutes from the clubhouse and contains a 5-a-side soccer field, a netball field, exercise yard  and playground for the youngsters. A soccer and netball tournament, organized by City Masters, is run at this sports complex during school holidays.

While physical activity is found to decline significantly among adolescent girls our netball teams have shown great enthusiasm and success. They have led their league in successive years.
